Facilitators

Anna Jeffery (Senior Facilitator)

Anna has a creative background, something she maintains and enjoys to this day. After completing a degree in Theatre Design and Scenic Arts in London, she enjoyed a brief career before packing up her paint brushes in pursuit of a more altruistic path. She took on a variety of roles trying to make this a reality, which included working as police staff and in a girls’ secondary school.
It was whilst working with particularly vulnerable young women in school that Anna developed her desire to see girls released from negative self-esteem and to discover their innate value, and so she is delighted to be able to help make this a reality through her role at Hope’s Place.
Anna lives in South Bristol with her husband and two young daughters. She owns too many books and can’t seem to stop buying them, but considers this to be her only vice. She also loves coffee and drawing all over her Bible with her exhaustive supply of fancy pens. Which actually, may well be her other vice.

Suzie Gibson

Suzie has returned to Hope’s Place after a few years away. She has worked in primary and secondary schools across Bristol, but predominantly South Bristol, running groups focused on building girls’ resilience and viewing themselves positively. This is a real passion for her. As a trained youth worker Suzie has run everything from a homework club to a football team, mums’ and daughters’ groups to holiday camps but as a creative at heart, her favourite time was when she could get messy with a recycled fashion club!

Alongside these loves, Suzie enjoys a chat with a cuppa and cake, so starting up a community cafe for a while was the dream!

Chris Bellamy

After realising that working in sales was not good for his soul, Chris made a values-based career change in 2009 and started working in the charity sector. In 2012 he qualified as a Counsellor with a professional diploma from UWE and has since worked in both therapeutic settings and the community, supporting people across a whole range of needs including mental health, disability and problematic behaviours. Chris has volunteered as a youth mentor, and been the operations manager for a project in the South West which supported care leavers into education and employment. Outside work Chris is a dad of three, an avid reader and a passionate ice hockey fan.
