“Identity” courses are designed to work with groups of girls across the primary and secondary age ranges. The groups provide a safe place for girls to share their views and ideas and consider how these impact on them, their families, friends and the wider communityEach session addresses relevant issues and challenges facing girls today such as friendships, peer pressure, beauty & self-image, partner relationships, hopes and dreams for the future.
- The facilitator uses a variety of approaches including: discussion, games, media, individual and group exercises to promote a useful and informed exchange of ideas and opinions.
- Fundamental to the sessions are the concepts of equal opportunity for all and mutual respect regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, age, disability and faith.
- The wealth of material for each session is tailored to meet the needs of the group.
Feedback from the girls and their teachers is overwhelmingly positive and this is reflected in formal evaluations where statistical analysis shows a significant improvement in attitudes as the courses progress.
