Hope for young peopleovercoming challenges, making positive life choices and fulfilling potential
Guy Palmer heads up our work with boys. Guy gained a BA in German from Swansea University in 1993. He then moved to Bristol, and completed the Diploma in Social Work (DipSW) at Bristol University, specialising in Work with Children and Families. He has also gone on to qualify as a Social Work Practice Teacher.
Guy has extensive experience of work with young people from a wide range of backgrounds, in a variety of settings, including local Adventure Playgrounds, both primary and secondary schools, community groups, Young Offenders’ Institutes, and local authority Care facilities. As well as work with groups, Guy has done a lot of one-to-one mentoring with young people, often with a focus on support within the Youth Justice System, and challenging discrimination, in all its forms.
Guy worked as a Senior Practitioner and Volunteer Coordinator whilst at Right Track, a former project of The Children’s Society in Bristol, recruiting, training and supervising volunteers from the community to engage young people in positive mentoring relationships. Guy also has personal experience of volunteering, most recently as a Reading Mentor at a local Academy.
