Hope for young people

overcoming challenges, making positive life choices and fulfilling potential

Suzie Gardener studied youth and community work at Newport University after co-founding a youth project in the south of Bristol. She continued to work with this youth project for the next 8 years working with young people in the local community and focusing particularly on supporting girls age 10-18.

Suzie has experience of running small group work in both primary and secondary schools. Work with these groups has included exploring self-esteem, relationship building, behaviour management and transition.

Suzie joined Hope’s Place as a girls group facilitator in July 2016 and is enjoying the opportunity to see girls supported in realising who they are and reaching their full potential.

Brilliant group. They were very engaged at all times. They looked forward to attending every week and were sad for it to end. They were very good at staying focused. Suzie was fantastic and was the key to the group’s success. She created a relaxing engaging environment for the girls.
